The following message has been posted to the website of one of the most trusted Emergency Food Suppliers in the industry...
SHIPPING UPDATE: Due to EXTREMELY HIGH customer demand, the Swine Flu Pandemic & market volatility, most orders will ship in approx. 5-10 business days. Food orders may take slightly longer. Supplies are getting tight. Longer delays being forecast. Order NOW!
Whether it's because of so many people stocking up for a possible few weeks at home, due to Swine Flu or if they are simply preparing for a coming food shortage, many shipping companies are working day and night to fill orders and are keeping up with orders, but the longer you wait to get your order, the longer the shipping time may be on it.
And here's the deal - what will happen if the Fed-Ex , UPS or Postal Service takes precautions as well...? Let's hope that doesn't happen!
That is where the beauty of having enough land to grow your own garden comes in. Or what about planting veggies in planters on your porch??
I had a friend that did that a few years ago. She got some really great boxes or actually they were like vinyl boxes - to plant her tomato plants in and she had a BUMPER crop of tomatoes, in a location where it is really hard to grow tomatoes without a greenhouse of some sort.
I think it was because they were up against the house and protected, but regardless if you are going to start growing your own stuff, stock up on local groceries or order emergency food storage - don't wait too long. Or you may not get yours!
